Weight Gain and the Holidays
This month is the start of the annual uphill weight gain cycle. Statistics show that we gain weight around the major holidays and then spend six months struggling to get the extra weight and inches off.- check out the chart and if you are German you have a bigger problem. Follow these suggestions and you will gain less and lose it in half the time after the holidays. (New England Journal of Medicine)
The Brian Wansink from Cornell Food and Brand Labs suggest the following:
- Weigh yourself 4 times a week- you will gain half the weight.
- Only indulge on the holidays and not the ten days before- you will gain 1/3 as much.
- Make an October Resolution to not gain weight versus a January 1st resolution to lose it.
- One more thing- I recommend that you enjoy a delicious and nutritious protein smoothie for one meal a day- you will feel less hungry and save you muscles. Of course, I suggest the Shaklee Life Plan and if you do not like it you will get your money back- no questions asked.
There are more things that you can do to not gain the weight- but, I will warn you- the more things that you want to do this year the more likely that you will fail. Human nature to jump in with both feet and solve all weight problems- it does not work.
